How can a team that has one hall of famer, two all stars, be second in the NBA in scoring and win 63 games lose in the first round of the playoffs? It has been nearly 15 years since the Seattle Supersonics shocked the world by losing to the Dikembe Mutombo finger-wagging Nuggets 3-2. I still remember watching NBC that afternoon, the crowd in the Seattle Center Coliseum looked on in amazement as time expired on the clock. The team favored by many to not only make it to the finals, but win it all, was gone in round one. At the time, it was the first 1 seed to lose in round 1.
